~It's October already!~

I know this sounds ridiculous, but it just hit me that it's October. October, November, December. Another year goes by. Unbelievable. This time 2 years ago we were up north for the winter. The leaves were changing color. So beautiful! Britt and I were finding near-by parks for the kids to play at. I wish I had taken more pictures of the trees. I miss autumn so bad living down here. Its my favorite time of year. I love the oranges, yellows and reds. Apple cider, chilly air. Britt and Shane learned to rake leaves and use the leaf blower LOL! My kids learned what socks were that year. And coats. They hadn't owned coats. Funny how excited they were to put on mittens etc.

The air smelled crisp and in the evenings we would build fires in the fireplace. I loved that!

When it came time to Trick or Treat, They had to bundle up under their costumes. Ha! Down here, you look for the thinnest coolest costume you can find. Kallee was a butterfly, Dallas a tiger. Brittany did Kal's makeup (sparkly eyeshadow and Kal had antennae that glowed. Dallas' tiger costume was so soft and thick. It was this zipper up thing with a hood that was the tiger head and the paws hung off of the cuffs for hands and feet. He loved it, but it scared him so he wouldn't keep the hood up b/c he was afraid the tiger would eat him and we had to fold the paws under the cuffs b/c they scared him too. But yet he insisted on that exact costume. He has it to this day and now plays tiger w/the hood up and paws out. LOL!
